Every thing about our first family session of the year was divinely appointed… I am almost positive. To the fact that we had to cancel the Sunday before because of rain, which allowed us all to get to church to hear a inspiring word from our pastor (www.caseytreat.com), to being stuck in traffic after Tasha + Moses’s shoot and being 30 minute late and stumbling unto this location, littered with confetti from the night before: New Years Eve + “First Night” in downtown Tacoma. When Isaiah and I arrived to the Starbucks in Fife we had the Uson’s follow us to one of many of my favorite alleyways. I thought they might look at the alley and question my ability to shoot, so I had Isaiah circle the block… and TA-DA! We find this goldmine of goodness.
The photo shoot was special to me because they were the family to set my year in motion + it was special to them because they’ve never had family photos. During the course of the shoot, I found out that Manny + his sweet wife Anika had never had photos together so we went a tad bit longer and I included a mini fake engagement session for them……
The lighting was magical. The family spectacular. The day freezing, but no rain… and the pictures, some of our best! Enjoy a sampling of a very cold first January morning.
