When I reflect on these pictures taken nearly a month ago on a really cold + wet day here in Tacoma at Pt. Defiance, all I can do is smile. This family does it to me. They make me happy. They make me smile + they make me think of joy. As I worked through this post all I could think was joy + it made me want to look into the word just a bit more.
The dictionary says that joy is: the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune of by the prospect of possessing what one desires; delight. Now I can assume that the Yohann’s were so joyful, in-spite of the cold + rain because they were shooting with Isaiah + I, I mean we are fun + cool–but I think that it was much more than that. They were so content with one another, so full (a word I use a lot to describe my overwhelming joy: like after a good soul food meal, when you can smile and relax into the company that you are with) that’s what it was like being around them!
I am so thankful for families that love being around each other in a world when so many are forced together only when tragedy strikes… I am thankful for this sweet family and the example they set.
Just a few frames from our time together…
