There are NO words for how much I absolutely LOVE and adore this family.  I officially met Fahren, the matriarch, in September at my church, after hearing about her and her incredible voice for years!  Fahren showed up at all of my local coffee shops and community fests–I admired her from afar but never in […]

Kahlil is the kind of baby that makes you want to be a parent, or at least me.  He was so enduring and so sweet.  He is such a ladies man at only 5 months old.  His grandmother, my aunt, is head over heels for him, and it didn’t take me long to see why… […]

A few silly moments I shared with the Thompson kids while capturing their CHRISTmas shots the other day. Their personalities come through in these candid snapshots, they are EVERYTHING like their pictures, funny, inquisitive, goofy and totally in love with eachother. What a joy siblings can be?! I met Artise & Clarise (twins) when I was 14-years old and a freshman at Lincoln High School.  We were all in choir and I was instantly drawn to Clarise.  We both went to different middle schools and had come into high school with what was suppose to be our permanent group of friends; but […]

So… there is a photographer who I follow and who I get the joy of calling my mentor; Kacey Pearson, and when I am reading her blog–she often refers to her clients as “delicious.”  This is a word used to describe people that I never quite understood. I mean, of course I think my husband is delicious, […]

This weekend I had a chance to hang with some really amazing women, all who are incredibly talented in their own rite.  These ladies are painters–and this weekend they welcomed me into their world!  There is nothing like getting together to document someone else’s form of expression through your own. These women were the sweetest, […]

What happens when the thing you never thought would happen does? What happens when you unexpectedly get sick? What happens when someone you love falls ill or even worse dies? What happens when a natural disaster hits and destroys everything you've worked so hard to build? What happens when you become ill or paralyzed and are unable to run your business? What happens when you find yourself in a global pandemic and you're unable to work for months at a time? What are you going to do?

When we first started shooting, we couldn't afford many of the opportunities and workshops that were available for newbie photographers to learn and grow, so we really utilized the free communities online and locally to building relationships and to learn the trade. It was those years that shaped who we are as people in this industry and have helped us to value the journey.
