Have you ever met a “jill-of-all-trades??” If there is such a thing, I am sure its Carmen!  She does it all make-up, a small boutique, event planning and coordinating all while attending school, being a wife and raising a beautiful baby girl. Carmen’s personality is big and bold so when meeting her for the first […]

You’ve seen Ebony here before, almost a year ago when we shot her with a smokin hot foreign exchange student.  This time Ebony contacted us for a fun session!  She’s like a real barbie doll + let me play dress up with her.  This girl is gorgeous and has a heart of gold.  Check out […]

Sweet sweet Jasmine with the kind heart and super incredible personality, stunningly gorgeous…. just absolutely beautiful and a little shy in front of the camera.  I had a great time kicking it with Jasmine on a sunny January afternoon in downtown Tacoma.  She and I and her crew, which consisted of her very helpful boyfriend, […]

Had a great time shooting Sherry + her 5 year old twins hanging at a local park on a typical NW day!  Enjoy a sweet sneak peek of their first experiential family session.

Earlier this year… which really means, about 6 weeks ago, I got the opportunity to spend the week in Utah learning, hanging + assisting another photographer who’s work I have grown to love over the last year ( you will meet her in a few posts down the road).  While there I got the opportunity […]

It was a cold cold cold day in January, in fact the second day of January, which makes Angelica the first senior of 2011. This girl was a blast + so beautiful!  We laughed and hugged so that she could stay warm and enjoyed the crazzzzzy amazing golden light that God provided for our shoot. […]

Every thing about our first family session of the year was divinely appointed… I am almost positive.  To the fact that we had to cancel the Sunday before because of rain, which allowed us all to get to church to hear a inspiring word from our pastor (www.caseytreat.com), to being stuck in traffic after Tasha […]

Had so much hanging and shooting around with Ramani on the last day of 2010.  It was sooooo cold that day but the light was so gorgeous! Ramani came ready geared up, mom + dad on both sides to keep him excited and laughing + totally aloof of the actual cold.  I loved having Ramani’s […]

When I reflect on these pictures taken nearly a month ago on a really cold + wet day here in Tacoma at Pt. Defiance, all I can do is smile.  This family does it to me.  They make me happy.  They make me smile + they make me think of joy.  As I worked through […]

This family makes me smile.  They love each other and love God.  There personalities are rich and they care for each other deeply. Isaiah + I saw the Frasier’s at church one Sunday.  We had been trying to plan a session and had scheduled and re-scheduled a couple of times until Keith, the man of […]

I started this post with BACK UP, because this is something that every senior photographer says over and over and for one reason or another I have made excuses for reasons why I haven’t: not enough time, not enough money, etc, etc. Last week while in Utah… I was looking to post this blog, about […]

Its always so fun to come across young people that I have worked with over the course of my short career in youth services.  I have been lucky enough to be a part of three really unique non-profits and serve and work with some wonderful young people over the years. One particular I met at […]

What happens when the thing you never thought would happen does? What happens when you unexpectedly get sick? What happens when someone you love falls ill or even worse dies? What happens when a natural disaster hits and destroys everything you've worked so hard to build? What happens when you become ill or paralyzed and are unable to run your business? What happens when you find yourself in a global pandemic and you're unable to work for months at a time? What are you going to do?

When we first started shooting, we couldn't afford many of the opportunities and workshops that were available for newbie photographers to learn and grow, so we really utilized the free communities online and locally to building relationships and to learn the trade. It was those years that shaped who we are as people in this industry and have helped us to value the journey.
