I did a bit of traveling this week and headed to Boise Idaho for a quick surprise visit to one of my friends and one of our 2011 brides. Late last year as we were building our Facebook fan page, I noticed posts from a beautiful woman out of Idaho with the most striking blue […]
Not that I would EVER condone this, but its kinda FUN + cool when our young people, along with their parents, skip school to come and shoot with me mid-week. I never skipped school for everything, but always wondered what it was like on the “other side” the other side of school… well these days, […]
Meet Daniel + Brittany. GORGEOUS right?! Back in January, after spending a week in Utah with my friend Stacy Young of Three Winks Studios and watching her KILL weddings I was inspired. We were driving home one night and I told her that I wanted to do a complimentary shoot for a bride and groom […]
Isaiah and I were so excited when Kamala + Brandon implied they wanted us to shoot their wedding last fall in Richmond, VA and thought they were joking, until they called us up and made it official. It is and was our very first destination booking and although the destination wasn’t the typical “cool” spot […]
I seriously believe that I am from Virginia, which is strange because I’m not. I am a born and raised Tacoma girl- but every time Isaiah and I go back to VA it feels more and more like the right fit. I mean, don’t be mistaken, I love Washington too, especially this time of year, […]
I fall in love so easily. It literally takes NOTHING to be my friend because I so love people. That’s why my blogs are always the same, the same message. “I had so much fun…” + “I love my (insert family/seniors/brides) or whatever it is I’m shooting that day. “We have so much fun…” I […]
Did something a little bit different. Shot some law office head shots, some just “hanging out” pics + I think they turned out well. Because I know we aren’t perfect- if anyone needs legal services, these guys and this team is seriously legit!! You can contact them by going to: www.gehrkelawoffices.com I trust Mr. […]
It is soooo fun to follow a blog and then to be featured on it, even if in a indirect way. I love the Wardrobe Wednesday post on Facebook- its a online forum where photographers can go to give their clients advice and ideas about clothing for their portrait sessions. A group of photographers from […]
You wanna talk about a couple so sweet they give you a toothache?! They’re names are Cesar and Priscilla and they are below! We met Cesar and Priscilla earlier last year thru many mutual friends and they hired us to shoot their wedding. From the instant we met- we knew we liked them and they […]
If after going thru these images it looks like the four seasons in them, its because literally the day of Taryn’s session it was and I am not talking hotel here. One thing about Washington state is it makes you a strong shooter- who has to learn to adjust and think on your toes fast. […]
So looking forward to shooting Branden and Candy’s wedding later on in the summer! We had an awesome time a few weeks ago running around Chambers Bay getting a feel for what it might be like on the wedding day! The day was incredibly warm and the sun had changed so it was at its […]
Its Mobile Mondays and I love Mondays. Monday to Monday from this week from last was awesome. As I mentioned last Monday, Isaiah and I celebrated our birthdays and silly me to think the celebrating would end on Sunday. We got the opportunity to indulge almost every day last week with dear friends and celebrate […]
What happens when the thing you never thought would happen does? What happens when you unexpectedly get sick? What happens when someone you love falls ill or even worse dies? What happens when a natural disaster hits and destroys everything you've worked so hard to build? What happens when you become ill or paralyzed and are unable to run your business? What happens when you find yourself in a global pandemic and you're unable to work for months at a time? What are you going to do?
When we first started shooting, we couldn't afford many of the opportunities and workshops that were available for newbie photographers to learn and grow, so we really utilized the free communities online and locally to building relationships and to learn the trade. It was those years that shaped who we are as people in this industry and have helped us to value the journey.
