I have known Jen for 5 years!  I cant believe it, as I write this post, that its really been that long. When I worked for the B&GC (boys and girls club) we had a partnership with a local SBUX and they would give us their leftover pastries to serve to our kids during snack […]

my sweet husband, Isaiah who I believe never gets as much credit as he deserves in this whole Latasha Haynes Photography thing….. SO this WHOLE post is dedicated to THIS man behind the camera. Recently Isaiah got a chance to show his skills on a shoot that he set up that was 100% ran by […]

There is nothing to have a best friend to walk thru life with.  My best friend from high school is still one of my closest friends to this day.  As we celebrated our 10 year reunion this weekend, I had some time to reflect & as she gets me through life now, I have no […]

This is the first of two posts about two fabolous girls.  One who I have been wanting to shoot for months & the other who is just as beautiful but new to me.  Both best friends.  Both talented photogs & models.  Both a absolute joy to be around. Both who I could sit around and […]

I met Tina almost a year ago/when we became Wordshop Woman & Sister.  Tina was at the table when I declared that I really wanted to be a photographer and along with the other 14 woman prayed fervently for favor and abudance and supported and encouraged me along the way. Tina asked LHP to donate […]

First let me start this post by saying, the Silverman family have been supportive of LHP since the beginning: being one of our first families to shoot–even before the mentor sessions and community college classes/hindsight I am so thankful that Katy contacted me again (with abundant faith) when looking to capture some milestone moments in […]

but this is one: why i love him.

This one is quick because you can read about Dionne and her family down in the March/April posts… but for now quick back story….  at our launch party for the business we did a couple raffles/some t-shirts/some little stuff and 1 big prize: 1hr shooting with us on the house!  Dionne won and it was […]

Trash the Dress!  Trash the Dress??!  And what does all of this mean??  Like get in a garbage can?  Like add trash to the dress??!  What are you talking about Tasha?  Why would someone do this willingly??  Are you and your husband in trouble??  What”s the point??! These are the questions and responses I have […]

Oh my goodness! The sweetest, most precious, beautiful baby with wisps of red hair coming through and a mom & dad who were absolutely smitten with her. I met Phinley’s mom, Jessica at Cherish: our church’s annual fashion show, where are mutual friend brought her and she set at the table I hosted.  At the […]

A couple months ago, I offered a contest on Facebook to folks who were interested in doing a “Girlfriends” shoot.  I got the idea from another local photographer, here in Tacoma, Lindsay Brooke, and wanted the opportunity to showcase my own set of girlfriends.  There is nothing like a good set of girlfriends: who hold […]

What happens when the thing you never thought would happen does? What happens when you unexpectedly get sick? What happens when someone you love falls ill or even worse dies? What happens when a natural disaster hits and destroys everything you've worked so hard to build? What happens when you become ill or paralyzed and are unable to run your business? What happens when you find yourself in a global pandemic and you're unable to work for months at a time? What are you going to do?

When we first started shooting, we couldn't afford many of the opportunities and workshops that were available for newbie photographers to learn and grow, so we really utilized the free communities online and locally to building relationships and to learn the trade. It was those years that shaped who we are as people in this industry and have helped us to value the journey.
